Return Policy:

  • Merchandise purchased at full price or standard markdown may be returned for a full refund to the original payment method or exchanged within 30 days of the delivery date.
  • All merchandise purchased at 50% or more off its original price is considered final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Merchandise purchased from other retailers, including department stores or specialty stores must be returned to the store from which it was originally purchased, and is subject to the return policy of the originating retailer.
  • Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. You will be responsible for any return shipping costs.
  • We recommend you use a trackable and insured shipping method for returns made by mail as JohnnyWas.com cannot accept responsibility for items not received or damaged in transit.
  • Johnny Was reserves the right to deny a return or refund if the merchandise does not meet the terms and conditions of our Return and Exchange Policy. Items that do not meet the policy’s terms and conditions may be returned to you.

Items eligible for return:

  • Merchandise purchased at full price or standard markdown (between 1-49% off its original price)
  • Merchandise must be in original condition (unworn, unwashed, and unaltered with original tags intact and returned in its original packaging.)
  • Swimwear must be returned with protective lining in place and show no signs of wear. For sanitary reasons, please try on swimwear over your underwear.
  • Due to the nature of this product type, all beauty and specialty/restricted merchandise must be returned sealed, unused, and in their original brand packaging within 14 days of delivery.
  • Beauty Products that have been opened, used, damaged, or altered in any way are not eligible for return and may be sent back to the customer.
  • All returns must be accompanied by the original receipt or online order number

Need to Exchange An Item?

To ensure you get your preferred size as quickly as possible, we recommend you place a new order right away and follow the returns process for the item you no longer want. Currently, there is no full-service exchange option.Expand AllGift Returns

Gift returns may be returned to the gift recipient for a gift card for valid Johnny Was online orders. Should you wish for the order to be refunded back the purchaser, please let us know.

To proceed with processing a gift return request, please contact Customer Care and provide any of the following:

  • Order number OR First and Last Name of Purchaser OR Email address of Purchaser
  • Item SKU, Color and Size you wish to return
  • Your email address

Missing, Damaged or Incorrect Merchandise

We aim to ensure every order is delivered meeting our quality standards. If your order is received with any issues including damaged or incorrect items, please report your concerns to Customer Care immediately.

To expedite the resolution, please email and include the following:

  • Detailed summary of your order’s issue
  • If damaged or defective, please include 1 to 2 images
  • Please note that all defective items are subject to inspection upon receipt to our warehouse.

Items Purchased on Sale

Items purchased on sale are eligible for return as long as they are not purchased at more than 50% off the original price.

Items purchased at more than 50% off the original price are considered final sale and are ineligible for return.

Quick tip: Adding a promotion or discount on top of sale merchandise may make the item a final sale. This messaging may appear after the promotion is applied during checkout.Returning a Purchase made In-Store

Purchases made in-store (in person or via phone) may be returned to any of our Johnny Was Retail Locations. Johnny Was Outlets are excluded and cannot accept online or retail purchases. Please note that for in-store returns, the original form of payment will be required.
